MCCS Opens 100th MCX24, Bringing Unattended Retail to Marines Globally
HQMC (MR) QUANTICO, VA – Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Business and Support Services Division (MR) marked a major milestone with the opening of its 100th MCX24 at Camp Pendleton’s Area 62 Fitness Center – an achievement that reflects a decade of innovation, expansion, and unwavering commitment to serving Marines, Sailors, and families wherever they live, train, and operate. What began 10 years ago as a simple concept – providing Marines with reliable access to essential goods regardless of time or duty schedule – has grown into a global network of unattended retail micro marts across the Corps.
The MCX24 program has become a cornerstone of MCCS’ mission to support Marines no matter where they are. These 24‑hour, self‑service convenience stores use open shelves, coolers, and self‑checkout kiosks to deliver round‑the‑clock access to snacks, drinks, hot prepared food items, and everyday essentials. Whether a Marine is grabbing a quick bite after a late workout or picking up supplies before an early formation, MCX24 ensures access without barriers, no matter the hour, holiday closures, or operational tempo.
“Ten years ago, we saw a gap – Marines needed reliable access to essentials no matter the hour or the tempo; MCX24 was born from that simple truth,” said Dave Delessio, MR’s Unattended Retail and Services Program Manager and the visionary behind MCX24. “Seeing our 100th location open is more than a number; it’s proof that when we listen to Marines and innovate with purpose, we deliver solutions that genuinely improve their daily lives.”
Mr. Delessio’s perspective underscores how a Marine‑centered idea evolved into a global capability that continues to strengthen readiness and quality of life. From a business perspective, the program’s growth has been equally remarkable. In the first five months of FY26 alone, MCX24 locations generated more than $12 million in revenue and are on track to exceed $32 million by year’s end. Shrinkage remains significantly lower than industry averages, reinforcing the strength of the model and the trust placed in Marines who enjoy having this capability.
“Reaching 100 MCX24 locations demonstrates the strength of our business model and our commitment to serving Marines in every clime and place,” said Jen Wible, Deputy Director for Business Operations and Chief Operating Officer for MR. “This milestone reflects disciplined growth, strong partnerships across regions, and a clear focus on readiness and quality of life. MCX24s prove that smart, scalable retail solutions can deliver both mission impact and financial performance.”
As MCCS looks ahead, plans are already underway to continue expanding MCX24 in FY26 and beyond, ensuring Marines have dependable access to essential goods at any hour. The opening of the 100th MCX24 is not just a celebration of growth – it is a testament to MCCS’ enduring promise to innovate, evolve, and deliver for Marines, Sailors, and families around the world.
