Navy Marine Corps Relief Society 2023 Contributions

On November 27, 2023, Cindy Whitman Lacy (right), CEO/Director of the Marine Corps Community Services Business and Support Services Division, presents a check for $429,690 to LtGen  Robert Ruark. USMC (Retired), President and Chief Executive Officer, Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society. Twice a year, the Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) offers its customers the opportunity to support the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) by purchasing a $5 benefit ticket. NMCRS aims to help those in need in a variety of ways, including emergency travel, visiting nurses, education assistance, disaster relief, interest-free quick assist loans, and more. In 2022, the organization served over 179,000 active duty and retired military and their families. NMCRS is funded by charitable donations and does not receive any funding from the Department of Defense.

This  year the total contribution of donations was $429,690. Since 2013, MCX customers have donated over $2M. U.S. Marines, their families, retirees, veterans, and authorized patrons, across the Marine Corps led the way.   In 2023, top donations came from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune/New River totaling $102,330, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton totaling $85,090, followed by Marine Corps Air Station Miramar  totaling $44,620. Contributions per installation are shown in the below chart.
