A Summer Intern’s Journey with MCCS
Ever since the first day of working to the end of the summer, the experience I got to have was amazing. Being able to experience and understand business firsthand brought me great insight into how it all works inside of a marketing team, which this was my first time learning about that job industry. While also learning, I’ve got to meet a great team that has all each other’s back while getting work done, besides that they all knew what they were doing which helped me understand each aspect more than enough. Especially shadowing in meetings has helped improve my knowledge about how brands work together while also showcasing a strong business dialect and thought process.
Besides shadowing and learning, I have gotten to work with the team which helped me become more knowledgeable about how it’s all done, from helping with the creatives to even helping with the numbers working on excel sheets to figure out sales and percentages of views, it all made me learn something new that I could use in the real world as I’m growing up and going to school. While working with the team, I also got to use my skills inside of the workplace as a writer helping with drafts and proofing. In the middle of all of this I got to learn about business structure, for example MCX. Getting to be taught about brands and their guidelines helped open my eyes to what a brand actually does as a whole. Also, while working with the creatives I also learned great new ways of working with advertisement and presentation which is something valuable to me as I am studying to be a creative doing video/photo editing.
Overall, it has been an amazing experience getting familiar with a government workspace and getting to be around a whole marketing team. It’s been very valuable knowledge that I can use in my future. I am grateful for the experience that I get to be a part of and I can use these skills outside of the internship moving forward.
