Celebrating 250 Years of Valor: Marine Corps Community Services Launches Year-Long Anniversary Campaign

MCX Staff Submission

HQMC (MR) QUANTICO, VA – Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) today announced the launch of a year-long campaign to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, culminating on November 10, 2025. This milestone anniversary campaign honors the Corps’ storied history, recognizes the contributions of its service members, and inspires pride in the generations of Marines who have answered the nation’s call.

“This is an extraordinary moment to reflect on 250 years of dedication and sacrifice,” said Edward Cutshall, CEO of MCCS’ Business & Support Services Division. “As we celebrate the Corps’ storied legacy, we also look to the future and stand ready to continue empowering Marines to remain ready, resilient, and equipped to win whenever duty calls."

Through a series of strategic and community-focused initiatives, MCCS will highlight the Marine Corps’ history, drive engagement with its community, and reinforce the critical role MCCS plays in supporting Marines and their families. Planned activities include:

  • Storytelling Campaigns: Throughout the year, a weekly storytelling series will spotlight iconic battles, humanitarian missions, and the modern-day Marine experience.
  • Commemorative Merchandise: Exclusive items marking this historic anniversary will be available at Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) stores and Inns of the Corps.
  • Community Events: Installations worldwide will host events to bring together active-duty Marines, veterans, families, and supporters.

Additionally, MCCS will proudly support Headquarters Marine Corps’ planned 250th celebrations through storytelling, strategic content promotion, and by offering tactical MCX options to Marines at marquee events nationwide. For more information about the official events check out the Marine Corps’ celebration website at www.marines.mil/Marines250.

“Our history at MCCS is deeply intertwined with that of the Marine Corps itself,” said Cutshall. “For more than a century, MCCS has stood shoulder to shoulder with Marines, providing a myriad of support systems that enhance their readiness and quality of life. As we celebrate 250 years of the Marine Corps’ honor, courage, and commitment, we also reflect on our own legacy of service to those who serve and recommit to shaping a future worthy of their sacrifices.”
